| I am here to ride bike |

Well.....here we go again.
I flew out of Canberra early Sunday morning and got stuck next to some guy who kept talking to me when all I wanted to do was sleep...unfortunately I'm going to be stuck with him for the next 21 days or so as we ride to Broome on our bicycles.
It's about 2,400km...a lot of riding, but we have slick tires, and plenty of tequila. We leave tomorrow, and there's still heaps of things to buy...I still don't have a functioning phone which is proving disastrous for screening calls.
Nick, my riding partner, has worked for the Hyatt for the last couple of years and has 3 complimentary nights at the Hyatt...which is pretty sweet. They upgraded us to regency so we get complementary breakfast and from 6pm to 8pm it's all you can drink...
Yup. All you can drink.
Bhav called while I was in the regency club room as it was coming up to 8pm...I can't remember what was said...in fact it could have been my supervisor.
I was going to download a whole heap of songs to my iPod...but forgot...I only have the Hilltop Hoods and the best of Simon & Garfunkel plus a few select songs from a band called "I killed the prom queen"....and "The End" by The Doors...quite a fitting song as we ride into strangeness. oddpuppy made me a mix CD!! But not quite in time for my leaving...although, no-one has ever made a mix CD for me before. Sammypuppen is extremely awesome.
When I put my bike back together from out of the bike box, I forgot to secure the handlebars well and nearly rode over three people (comedy 101: "and that was just getting out of the lobby").
We leave tomorrow. |
